Never seen a 237 with the full flow machining on the side of the block - doesn't mean there aren't any. Late M601's used the 251 with full flow using a plate that bolted to the side of the block with flex hoses to a remote mounted spin on full flow filter. VPW might have some of those units. Some of the 318 car engines had the same system, but not sure if the plate will fit to the flathead. Some of the '50's Chrysler cars had a tower type mount that bolted to the block and that was full flow. If you don't have the machined pad on the block you can modify to full flow, but messy and IMO not necessary. Hope this helps.
