Short stroke, runs the most like a modern engine. It'll even rev up past 2300. ;)
I assume you block has the flat spot milled on the side, what you want is the later 251 bolt on full flow? That what you have now is a plate with a couple oil lines?
Can't you with the parts, just this bit of clarification.
