I forgot about that on the beater M37 that had the MU2 welded onto the home-made bumper, driven by a funky arrangement of drive-shafts going to a separate rear gearbox, when I turned the PTO around so its output faced forward, even though I had the right drive shaft for it, I had to torch out about 3/4 of the front cross-member to clear the drive shaft. I will have to look and see how Wittenberg did it. That also reminds me that I was going to try to bolt some sort of patch over that big notch in the cross-member before I go out on any rough roads. I could easily weld a patch over it but then I could never get the driveline out. Thanks for jogging my memory. Suddenly it's sounding like I should really try to find an LU4. I suppose everybody wants them and since not many M37s and no M43s were equipped with them from the factory, they're rather scarce.
