There is a Reason that 1950's trucks are not top off roading trucks.

Trucks built in the 1940's and 1950's +/- were built for WORK or for a purpose to WORK not play like most of us do with them today, including power wagons. Your Toyota is Just that a TOY!! and can NOT be compared to a power wagon in anyway.

A lot of a trucks capability is the driver behind the wheel, just like most pieces of equipment, or toys. (four wheelers, dirt bikes, snow mobiles, etc,,) to prove my point,,

A few years ago I was in Moab UT with a few acquaintances of mine, who have Jeeps/Rock buggy's that are built to 4 wheel and crawl on rocks all day, they all have bead locks, lockers,, and all the other TOYS, two of them were having a hard time getting over this one obstacle, finally they had to winch over it, just to keep moving on the trail, not 5 minutes later here comes this older gentleman (about 70) in a STOCK early 1970's scout, that he probably bought new, this thing was bone stock, open front diff, limited slip in the rear he said, it had the stock 31 inch tires, that were more of a highway tread then off road tread, He picks the same line as the two Jeeps that just winched over this obstacle, and walks right over it like going over a speed bump in a Wal-Mart parking lot,

I starting laughing after that,,,, here my buddy's purpose built rock crawlers could not make it over the obstacle after trying for at-least a half hour and this older guy pulls up in a stock truck and wheels right over it like NOTHING!! My buddy's were pissed and I heard every excuse in the book for the rest of that day, but it only comes down to one thing, experience and technique, not the truck, because you can hardly compare a rock buggy/Jeep to a stock Scout. Like comparing a Power Wagon to a Toyota,, which is just Sacrilege!!!
