I really have no desire to rebuild my 230. It's a 60 year old motor that is absolutely gutless and would be just as difficult to rebuild/reinstall than if I got a modern diesel. I really see no advantage to rebuilding the 230.
So far, it looks like the bread van approach to a new diesel is the best way.
