According to the "Historical Record of Dodge Trucks Civilian Trucks, 1938 - 1950)" published by the Truck Engineering Dept., Chrysler Corporation, Engineering Division, panel trucks were only built in 1/2 ton and 1 ton versions.

That panel is 1941 - 1947 based on the headlight placement on the fenders. More specifically, that truck is a 1941 based on stainless steel trim on grill.

The following information is for 1941 - 1942 and 1946 - 1947 production.

The 1 tons were engineering code T116. The 1&1/2 tons were engineering code T118. Engineering codes were part of the engine number. The 1/2 ton and 1 ton trucks had 217.76 cu. in. engines and the 1&1/2 tons had 228.12 cu. in. displacement engines.

Wheelbase choices for the 1 tons were 120” (WD20) and 133” (WD21). Wheelbase choices for the 1&1/2 tons were 126 1/2", 135 5/16", 160", and 190", all WF sales code.

There was a 133” wheelbase 1&1/2 ton in 1940. Its GVW was less than the 1941. Dodge was experiencing highly increased production as part of preparations for WWII and it seems unlikely that they would have built a 1940 truck with 1941 front sheet metal.
