Dodge diesel question

Need to know if anyone here has had this happen. I have a 2001 ram 3500 cummins diesel automatic 4x4. It starts fine . When in drive and going down the road it tends to bogg down . You can press the peddle to the floor and it wont go. Pop it in neutral and it will rev up fine put back in drive and it goes fine. Thought the fuel filter was dirty so I changed it . no water and clean . Still does it . No codes come up and no lights come on. Local dealer is booked for weeks . Any Ideas? Is it the sign of a lift pump going? Any help if very much appreciated Thanks Guys
