I've noticed it returns more irrelevant results lately too. I think they think that if they give more results, people will buy more stuff. I'm not sure of the logic in that, since it assumes the user is too dumb to know what he wants, but once he sees some marginally-related thing, he'll decide to buy it.

Anyway, it appears that if you put your search terms in quotation marks, it will force an exact match and it won't return things that it thinks ought to be sort of like what it thinks you really mean to be searching for. So try using quotation marks around each word or phrase that you want to match. I hope it helps. Google is getting a little bit too clever for its own good these days too, but quotation marks generally seem to beat it into submission.
