Will an old rambler/studebaker spin on kind of oil filter se

I found a spin on oil filter set up with oil hoses like what flathead has on an old late 50s studebaker at the junk yard. Would it work to replace the oil filter cannister? It would be easier and cheaper to find the oil filters and quicker and easier to change. Thanks.
