I just can't see drilling a hole in the roof to mount the antenna. Not to mention the hole in your headliner. It's like people who want skylights in their house. I ask them "What's a skylight? A hole in your roof, What happens if there's a hole in your roof? It leaks." I don't put in many skylights that way.
Another thing,I've never seen a full radio setup so how often did the antenna get broken off do you suppose? Couldn't have been good going through a garage door.
