Thirty years ago today ,I was cleaning my garage out and chatting to my neighbor ,honkey Joe .Now honkey Joe got his nickname from his terribly loud laugh ,that could be heard clear across the concession .His laugh much like a Canada goose looking for a place to land very, very distinct .Also in attendance that day was my son Jason ,who was nicknamed the Runt , because of his smaller size in comparison of my other older kids . Now the Runt was one those busy five year old kids always messing with something he shouldn’t have or clinging or crawling on or around you ,you know the kind of kid ,I am talking about . So honkey Joe and I are bantering back and forth over interest rates ,which were unstable at the time ,and the Runt is running back and forth between my legs . The Runt is being a nuisance, but other than me swatting him away from time to time ,he is not really hurting anything . .Honkey Joe and I are in a heated debate and I wasn’t paying much attention to the kid at all .Now I am wearing cotton jeans ,thin cotton work jeans ,then a bolt of lighting strikes me between the legs .I drop to knees in pain and look ,the Runt had attached a pair of vise grips to one of my cajones real hard like .I am rolling around on the garage floor screaming and honkey Joe is laughing so hard and he’s not helping me one bit ! ,and the Runt has fled the scene . I was powerless too even help myself . With all the thrashing I did on the ground, like a scalded cat the vise grips eventually fell off ..It took two weeks for my swelling to go down, a week for the Runts ~ Copey ps happy b day runt
