used to be a banker had discretion to make loans based on a project, deal or promise of a new customer. we once had a business banking officer who lent us money based on our request based on our expression of a need. never missed a payment and the bank rep was responsible for his loan portfolio. we were treated like adults and honored loans in the same manner. those days are gone.
