Randy,
PayPal may be safe but they are the biggest rip off company in conjunction with Ebay that I have ever dealt with. Get this: I collected guitars for over 35 years and over the last 2-3 years I have sold off most of them....just dont need or want them anymore. Last Saturday, I had an auction end for a 1965 original Fender Telecaster....it brought $3477. The buyer pays me instantly with PayPal...good. I get a notice from PayPal that the funds have been submitted BUT.....there is a 21 day hold before the funds will be available to me!!YUP 21 days. It never used to be this way but it is now. They hold funds for 21 days OR until the buyer leaves POSITIVE feedback for you. So, in essence, if the buyer doesnt like what you sent or just got out of bed on the wrong side, they can file a grievence with PayPal and your money is hung up until a resolution to the problem is acheived! Total BS! Also, try to list anything on Ebay now except for a few small catagories and you MUST use PayPal for the transaction...no more personal checks or money order! Also, you cant leave negative or neutral feedback for a buyer but the buyer can leave it for the seller! Ebay and PayPal have you by the cahoonies! Unfortunately, they do have the biggest market to sell items through. I cant wait until I sell all my old collection of PW parts, guitars and amps and tube stereo stuff so I can be done with both of them!! Sorry for the rant guys.
John
