I discussed Apples with two IT guys at companies where I worked. They both said Macs are far more trouble free than PC's, and they both owned both, and both worked in companies where they admitted their job opportunity was the result of how troublesome PC's manage to be.

They both told me that Apple imposes restrictions on software developers who create software for Macs. Developers are required to create software that compatible with other Mac software. I am sure I am getting the language somewhat wrong here, but that is the essence of it. Developers producing applications for PC hardware face a minimal set of constraints. Consequently you are more likely to have software related issues on PC's stemming from applications not playing nice with one another.

I have faced a lot of buggy, quirky symptoms on PC's in the work place. Never with a Mac.
