But then I keep by system up to date and I don't vist questionable sites either.
If you buy a brand name like Toshiba, Sony or HP you will not have any problems. I would not buy a Lenovo or Acer.
One thing to consider if you're buying an Apple Laptop is that the battery is not replaceable. If it dies you have to send it back to Apple to be repaired, and by repaired I mean that you do not get your unit back, but a unit that was "refurbished".
My family currently has 4 laptops, 2 HPs and 2 Toshibas and they have been great machines without any problem and were purchased at a much better price point than the Apple machines.
