I also run both types of computers, but like the Apple products better.
I love my 23" iMac. Small footprint. Never a problem. No virus or need for virus software. Never have to see the "blue screen of death"! No constant emergency updates to fix holes in the software.
The nice thing is there is a lot of free software for the Apple so you don't need to buy MS Office. OpenOffice is a free download and does the whole word processing a spreadsheet thing.
When I'm on-call for the hospital I need to look at Xrays which only work on Internet Explore so then I switch over to Bootcamp and run Windows.
Granted the Apple products cost more, but the convenience and peace of mind is worth it. I've had my iMac for about 5 years without a glitch. Can't say that with my Windows based machines.
