if you have been talking with the spring place down in Ballard dont listen to them. they build junk. i have thrown away a number of spring sets they cobbed together. M37s ride smooth compared to the WCs and PWs. maybe lube up all the pins and steering. I dont believe oil on springs can make them lose temper. Like Chris said Ambulance wprings were wrapped and lubed as well as many cars too back in the old days. the were lubed with "spring lube Grease" special tools were needed to lube them. spring luber, and jiggle jacks.
