It is hard to compare value but I would bet the 4bt wouldn't hurt value. You might not increase the value of the truck enough to cover the cost of the conversion. I really feel the 4bt is what dodge engineers would have installed back in the day had it been available to them. I will also add that the 4bt is the easiest way to add fuel injection to these trucks and the diesel doesn't gum up if you, like me don't drive the truck when there is salt on the road. Like all diesels I have experienced the 4bt always seems so happy to start even after sitting for months, in fact it seems just a bit reluctant to stop.

The disadvantage the 4bt is much louder than the six and nothing matches the 230 for smooth running. When a 230 is running right you could balance a penny on the cylinder head of a running engine.
