Drill and tap a hole into the reverse rail 'tunnel' in the tranny cover. Do it right in the truck, use a magnet to pick up the chips? Maybe pull an end cap ? Since the rail moves what 1 1/2"? switch location would not be too critical. Clearance to floor board would be the limit. I think. Tunnel wall would be thick enough to hold the switch. I think. If too thin, braze up a lump, right in the truck.
