Marty, I have used a local foundry to cast a lot of reproduction parts for both Jeeps and Power-Wagons. I have always went with high manganese bronze. I find that it is easy to machine and is not brittle like cast iron.

If I had your bracket, I could take it to my foundry and see what the costs would be. They would sand cast directly off of the bracket. I usually let them use the mold several times until it starts falling apart, but they would make a new mold for each one if it was specified that they do so (higher cost of course).

I have had many parts made that were a lot larger than the bracket, and just as complex, and I have never had to pay $50.00.

Contact me with Power Wagon in the subject line if interested.
