The front axle third member came out of a 1950's Dodge 1 ton Pilothouse flatbead. The posi unit I have no idea. It is the same as the front unit but with the added guts that make it posi. I am assuming that the posi unit must have been some special order or done by an after market outfit. It's possible that Dodge did offer a posi unit as an option back then, but I kind of doubt it. All 1940-60 1 ton Dodge 8&3/4" third members will fit in WC 1/2 & early 3/4 ton military trucks. The side gears way need to be changed depending on the application and the right lengh axle shaft must be used also. it was a pretty easy modification.
