Australia used Lucas electrics from 53 on. Interesting that the US block-dissy set up is different.

With the rear seal you fitted on the 59 was it held in by 6 bolts (3 for each seal mounted on a steel plate.) This was common for our engines. The seal in this engine is just 2 pieces of rubber that sit on the engine and main cap.

It`s certianly interesting comparing these engines. The above pic is of a 53, 60 (both English made) and the NOS engine. All parts are interchangable but the blocks have suttle differences.
