Tony, the Lucas distributor is interesting, I've fitted one to the USA engine I'm using and had to machine down the body to make the drive long enough to reach, where the USA distributor is about 1/4" longer from the drive to the base of the body, so some differences in block machining. I rebuilt an engine with the same rear main seal and distributor set-up as you describe many years ago and it was in a '59 Dodge truck. Whether it was original or not I don't recall, but it was in the truck when we bought it. I understood it was a late KEW series engine. Bottom line is it looks like you got yourself a good engine there. I believe (but not confirmed) the oil pipe mount from a VF 318 will bolt on there so you can use the remote full flow spin on filter.
