In Vancouver they've changed the law at the salvage yards. In order to take anything to the salvage yard, you must present a valid drivers license in order for them to accept it & take a photo copy.
They all have video cameras now to cover their own ass's.
It used to be they'd just pay guys cash...no longer. Everything by check now & written only to the person on the drivers license.
They've changed it for 2 reasons...theft is a big reason but my opinion is the biggest reason is tax evasion. 1000's of scrappers pay zero income tax yet they're making big, big bucks in cash...or they were :) :)
