Full time 4X4 to part time 4xX4 Conversion

Hello,
Im new to this site and would like to say hello to everyone.

I am in the market to purchase a Power wagon. I want to change the full time 4 wheel drive to part time 4 wheel drive and was wondering what all needs to be done. Im looking at years 75-80 range.

And does anyone know what the differeance in gas milage is when running a full time 4 wheel compared to a part time 4 wheel with a 360 or 318?

Im going to use this truck to relocate out of state and keep it for a weekend truck when I get to my destination.
