The Russians, and an American scientist, believe that the oil in the earth, was created by intense pressure on the carbon in the earths crust, and not entirely by "fossils". The Russians have actually made oil by putting carbon (the most common element) material and I believe water , under intense pressure, I read an article about this in a science mag several years ago. About 4 years ago, I found a Web site that discussed this issue. I'll have to see if I can find it again. Stay curious Copey, its good for you and the kids. Ron
