it is because the banks have pretty much quit loaning any money to anyone. that is how businesses like that stay afloat is by using a line of credit for materials. Ideally it would be nice if they had the cash themselves to keep it going but I think they prefer to float credit in order to avoid paying some taxes and/or to have the interest as a deductiable. dont worry soon we will all have the pleasure of riding around on chinese Maypop brand tires. ;/)
