the are mant in circut valves in boom trucks bucket truck and hyraulic cranes reason being one ,Failure If a line should blow holding the boom ,should fail the boom would come crashing down or become a"out of control desent" > there are vale circuits in these units that prevent colapsing > i could go into detail but if there is a sudden loss of presuer the cicutry closes the ram outlet and many other vales > same on out riggers you just cant have one blow a line the unit would endanger every one near the site > here in canada all lift equip requires periodiacal reviews or safty check to be 'on site " > if not only for my personal safty i would have a pro certify the unit make corrections as neccassry and use with confidence > i have been on site we equipment of the lift stuff has problems they are much safer today than 30 years ago ~ i am surprized your insurance carrier hasnt ask for updates and testing > manitory here > last year fire and reusce had a test on the arial truck (1982) > a hose went off the ladder dropped a few inches hard (the test wieght was 500 lbs) at maximun length and over the "side" bent the areial ladder with the sudden stop but did not crash down > had to get a crane to lift up take pressure of the system install new hose bleed and limp back to the firehall bent ladder and all Copey back to rambo weekend
