Jon, I just bought a cheap $50 auto darkening helmet from northern hydraulics and I'm happy with it, you can adjust the amount of darkening and the time to switch. Can't beat the price. When my old auto darkening helmet crapped out, my friend had used the same helmet all summer welding truck bodies and loved it, so I bought one. I copuldn't see spending $400 for a so called good helmet at my welding shop.
