I have a friend who works in a pulp mill where they use it for non-chlorine bleaching of pulp. The stuff they get is so strong that it will instantly ignite any organic material (wood, paper, oil) it touches. If you pour it into a jar that has a fingerprint on the inside of the glass, it will react with the oil in the fingerprint instantly and crack the glass. Needless to say, that stuff is tightly controlled.
