Its difficult to enlarge the picture and retain clarity. It 'appears' and I use that word guardedly, appears, to have a Lucas DAV Injection pump. If this is true, then the confidence level increases that this is a industrial engine with a Load Governed
injection pump. The absence of a turbo also increases the probability of it being a industrial engine. The cost to buy a Bosch VE Distributer injection pump could be very costly. And keep in mind that many other things are changed for Industrial
Stationary Service, such as compression ratio, pistons to name a few. Then you have to ask.....who rebuilt it, was it done right or a rattle can rebuild. I would prefer to do my own rebuild if necessary, then I know its done right.

I find prices on these "OLD" engines absurd. Many of these B3.9 takes out are from the 80's and early 90's with high miles. Do to demand, its a sellers market. And with the supply of these old engines drying up, I expect to see continued high prices and probably even increasing prices. But if you stay vigilant, there are still good deals to be found.
