Your idea is sound. However, the Cummins B5.9 is to large to fit without cutting the firewall and fab'ing a doghouse. I suggest you consider a Cummins B3.9. She will fit like a glove. Go to the link below and look at my trucks, all with B3.9's. You can see how they fit, with no room to spare for a B5.9.......without a lot of cutting.
