Similar story, my eldest daughter bought a new (Asian) car about 7 years ago - had the free service at 1500km. We drove it to Sydney (about 600 miles from here) last year and before we left to come home I thought I better check it over - no oil on dipstick. Added about 2.5 liters to get to the full mark and asked when she last had it serviced - said the free service when she bought it. I suggested she might want to get it serviced when/if we got home. Spoke to her a few days ago and found she still hasn't had it serviced and it hasn't used any more oil. Guess it will just stop one day, but fascinated to know how long they will run for.
