The hydroboost system can probably deliver more assist than all but the biggest vacuum boosters, this can let you run a bigger MC, and generate bigger brake line pressures for more stopping force. They'd also be less suceptable to weak engine vacuum, but it will only help your system if brake pressure is the weak point in your system.

My Desoto has a monster brake booster and would easily lock up all four tires with the stock drum brakes. However the weak point was that the front drums were notorious for brake fade as they got hot. So converting the front to disks with a newer dual MC didn't improve the stopping distances as much as it did peddle feel and brake fade as well as the safety factor of a dual MC. Technically I still have way more brake assist than I want but that was they way they wanted them back then.
