For those interested in using Paul's hydraboost unit and have not got a spring already check these out. These springs are a stock item with Lee spring in NY. The spring is the same length as the original 4.00" and is only slightly smaller in dia than the original. This new spring comes in Music wire or SS materials with the music wire version a little stronger. I measured the original spring to be around 8.5lbs/in deflection and these springs measure 9.5lbs/in deflection for the SS version and 11.3lbs/in deflection for the music wrire version. Both the original and new springs have the same coil count. The new springs are identical in outside dia. to the original at 0.938". The id is slightly smaller at 0.775" versus 0.800" for the original. The wire dia. is 0.080" versus 0.070" for the original as well. The only other option is to have some custom made by any of the hundreds of spring makers in the US and Canada. Personnally I will use the SS version on my next truck. The cost is around $10 US each. PS does anyone have some good pics of the later PW brake master mounting unit used on 67 and up trucks. I saw the picture posted by MannyC and Chriscase but would to see more views so I can look at having some made up. The spring part #'s are LC 080KM 13S for the SS and LC 080KM 13M for the stronger music wire version.
