The only thing odd about your truck is the dual battery trays (I've only seen a couple with them, these were used as campers and ordered that way from the factory) and the Dana 60 rear end. Are you sure it's a Dana and not a 9¼ rear end?
The 440 and all that were standard options that year. 1978 was the last year for the big block. How about decals on the side of the truck. Is it orange and black with the words Macho on it anywhere. How about Warlock or other names. Any wood trim on the bed?
