There are other things to check before you start tearing things apart. Yes, it does sound like a stopped up fuel line. HOWEVER, the fact that when it sits and the heat riser valve was wired into position means you might have an exhaust problem. A new muffler is a good excuse to go with a glass pack (vroom vroom)


If the vacuum is okay, disconnect the fuel line and take the filler cap off the fuel tank. Use an air gun to blow air into the fuel line and see if it will blow easily. This can blow the crud out of the line if it isn't too bad.

Get yourself a vacuum gauge and check that puppy whiles it's running. You should have around 17-20 inches of vacuum. If it slowly drops, and then stalls under acceleration, you may have a stopped up muffler from internal rust and the baffles have collapsed.
