It can have either a poly head or Hemi head V-8. Yes, the engine will bolt right up to the floating power engine mount. The transmission hookup may be a problem depending on the bell housing and transmission in the '55 2wd truck. If it's a stick, you shouldn't have any trouble. You may run into problems with the length of the V-8 though.
