Sandblasting large surfaces is difficult but possible, if you take your time and angle your nozzle. Obviously, the person sandblasting was too interested in finishing the job quickly and getting the bucks. I have done thinner sheet metal than what is on a Power Wagon with no problems. If you strip the paint with a sander, you can warp panels too if you work too quickly, so don't blame the sandblasting, blame the operator.

However, sandblasting changes the properties of the sheetmetal. The metal gets harder and is more difficult to mig weld. Please remember this when you sandblast any sheet metal.
