M-series tach on WC?

Hello to all.

I just bought a NOS 1993 tank instrument panel (don't know from what tank), to replace the torched out instruments in the WC18. Don't look at me, I did not cut them out. A new dash would be required to fix it. I don't have that kind of money.

Anyway, the tank stuff has about all I need including a speedo (WC cable fits, 0-60mph) tach(0-4,000rpm), and M-series light switch and other goodies.

The tach is cable driven using the same cable as the speedo. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to connect up the tach to the engine.(using another speedo cable?) Maybe something from another engine I can modify over. According to the label on the tach, the gauge reads twice as fast as the cable is moving.

How was it connected originally? Disturber?

Thanks

SGWC
