Seems like sometime around 1960 even the poly changed starter mounting and the bellhousing changed also. I think the flywheel is differently mounted. Through bolts on the early motor and threaded on the later. It's been awhile since I changed engines on my 60, but I was quite suprised that I had to change to the newer style stuff. As I remember, the 57 and 58 trucks bellhousing mount flat. The 60, not sure about the 59, is a bolt in style trans crossmember. It also has the slanted mounting set up that is used up to 68. You could use that crossmember, a later bellhousing 62 to 68 318, poly or LA motor. Use the late flywheel and clutch. With this you will have to convert to a hydraulic clutch. For the front mount you can use the mount, timing cover, waterpump from a 59 or 60 318 equiped truck.I have bolted the cover to a late 318 with only having to remark the timing mark on the dampner.Hope this is any help.
