I believe you, since you were there and I wasn't but I thought the M35 and up fuel-fired heaters went where the batteries normally go, and the batteries were moved into the cab under the passenger seat to keep them warm. I have an unopened arctic kit for a 10-ton (someday I'll find the guy who really needs this), plus another one that I've opened and borrowed parts out of, and it definitely has that battery box conversion setup. The exhaust gas from the burner goes into a shroud under the oil pan to heat the engine that way, as well has having a coolant loop. The kit includes quilted canvas hood and side covers for the engine compartment, a radiator cover (of course) and some canvas you're supposed to stretch across under the engine as well. Did you have see one of those rigs installed?
