Get John Zentmeyers book about Dodge powertrain Interchanges from VPW. You can swap out the large and small third members, but modifications will have to be done. The only way to get lower numbered ratio's in the Civi powerwagon is to go with 8&3/4" third members which are weaker than the 9&5/8" units. The trade off would be higher road speed but less power(Torque) and weaker ring and pinion gears. I will have this problem with my WC-12 but, I don't care much. It will stil have four wheel drive and the half ton trucks came with the 8&3/4" third members any way.
