short cut / remove plug no 1 bump starter untill piston is at top dead center and it will push out air if its on the compresion stroke I usually have a remote starter button so i can hold my finger over number one hole and feel the air > now the crank and valves are set for number one to fire > next look at where the rotor is pointing > in the direction the rotor turns move the distributor just before the points open > tighten /snug distrub then mark on the outside on the dist whee the ROTOR is pointing this is where number one plug wire should be ~ Copey
