I still have an unopened 55 gallon drum of 85W140 gear oil, and the crack only leaks enough to keep everything around it pretty oily, so I'll probably just keep putting more gear oil in it. I would like to keep the water out, though. I would not have thought the oil would have turned to mud in just 6 months. I was just curious if anyone had tried using the MIG wire-feed welder to weld up a casting like that.
