Have you thought of trying the infamous Corn Head Grease? If you have a CENEX store nearby they stock it as EZ Flow Lithium Grease. It might be thick enough to not leak. I've used it in winches and transfer cases with leaky shaft seals. Where 90W leaked out, this stuff didn't. It might work for you until you take it out.
