The finger-ring type was used for the hood latches of the GMC 6x6s (M135/M211). Not sure if it was used on the CCKW. Like a lot of little things about the GMC deuces, it was just a little bit nicer than the rest of the M-series trucks. Unfortunately the Cadillac automatic transmission was its undoing. Anyway, I'm thinking someone probably liberated hood latch off a GMC deuce for your jeep.
