I think I could pick up a set every once in awhile. Rick (one of the crusher operators)is real good about getting parts I want although he crushed a Swept CC before I got to talk to the yard owner. I wasn't too happy about that. I do more hauling for him than any of the other crusher operators and we move the equipment together. He usually rides with me and moves the crusher while I haul the loader so we get to chat a lot about stuff like this. I won't be working much if at all until maybe April. I tried to make a deal with Rick and Phil to not call me until April 15th but that has not always worked. I was laying in the snow putting chains on an A train on Mt. Hood last January. Not sure exactly how that happened since I told myself in 1972 I was NEVER gonna do that anymore.
My boss says we are allowed to pull anything we might need/want off the rigs once it's on the trailer(s). Well, I think an engine might be a bit much. =) I hauled an uncrushed Dodge motor home that I pulled some good stuff off of. Had a great looking 440/auto in it I would have loved to have gotten. Went in the scrap pile. Even looked nearly new. I spent about an hour in a rest stop pulling parts. =)
Once I get back working, I'll keep a closer eye out for some sets.
