Hello out there... My name is Jon and I am from Houston,Texas. I have been a visitor to the PW Page for over a year now, but never realized that there was a forum stricktly for Power Wagons. I was made aware of this by Paul in Ny, who I met on www.4BTswaps.com.

My current project is a 1946 WDX Power Wagon. This truck was sold new to a drilling company called Houston Oil Well Service Co. It was a service truck used to maintain the various rigs this company drilled around Texas.

I purchased this truck in July of 2009 from an ex-employee of HOWS Co. He bought the WDX from the owner of HOWS Co. in 1990, and I have known of its whereabouts since that same time. I used to pass by the fencing company yard where this truck was parked on my way to high school.

This truck has not moved under its own power since 1955, and the Texas registration sticker is still in the passenger side windshield. It sat in a barn on a secluded pasture of South Houston until the ex- employee found it and struck up a deal with the owner, who was well into his 90's. He purchased the truck for $500.00, pulled the head off the original block, and then lost interest in the truck.

It sat like that for 19 years under a carport, until one day I took the long way to see a friend in the area, and she was still there! After a few tense days waiting for a phone call, he agreed to sell the WDX for the same price he paid, $500.00!

This is a complete, largely unmolested WDX with the MU-2 winch. For the most part she is in good shape, and you can tell when she was running she was well maintained.

My future plans include a Cummins/5spd swap, power steering and brake upgrades, but first she needs to torn down and sorted out.

Thanks for having me, as soon as I can figure out how to post some pictures i will...
