have all those nice snow removal surfaces on top of them. mine have lots of those but as it is a southern truck they are are proably caused by very heavy iron things dropped on them. mine also came with the not much paint has been on here in 59 years so there are nice little pitts in the metal to keep the ice off and allow the dog traction when chasing smaller mammels. I have never needed to wax one of my fenders
